Yes Nick, I’m Dead.

No, not really. The typhoon has come and gone, and the weather today was amazing. We started late at 10.30am, because the road workers needed time to clear all of the corpses off the road (the bikes don’t have suspension here which would make getting to school a little difficult). It was so hot on the way to school, especially the last leg of my mammoth journey to school, which is a gruelling 5 minutes climb up a mountain that today was covered in decaying bodies which I then had to dodge (remember the heat people). Actually, the damage from the typhoon itself was minimal.

We moved buildings today, because the old school building (they just go up rather than out here) is being revamped to make it earthquake proof. It was stinking hot lugging all of the desks and assorted furniture across the school, but thankfully the A/C in the new building is somewhat stronger.

I stopped at Lawson’son the way home, which is one of the franchise style convenience stores here (conbi). They are so much better than dairys in NZ, which often feel thrown together with a few spare pieces of ply board and bread trays. The lighting is bright, and shelves are full, and they are actually competitively priced – plus they are bigger. Anyway, I’m off to an English lesson with a lady who I’ve never met before at 8pm, so I better go get ready.
